Each corporal agent to this terrible feat.

Without our special wonder? You make me strange

When now I think you can behold such sights
And keep the natural ruby of your cheeks
When mine is blanch’d with fear’’

Reflections

Oral Presentation Reflection – Macbeth

Macbeth connects to ‘’What is loyalty’’ and ‘’How does power corrupt’’.
Macbeth is loyal to King Duncan. Macbeth is praised for his bravery, and his loyalty to the King is redeemed when Macbeth is granted the title of Thane of Cawdor.

Act I, Scene ii, 19
Soldier ‘’For brave Macbeth—well he deserves that name’’

Power corrupted Macbeth during the beginning of the story. The three witches say ‘’all hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter.’’ (1.3.53). Now Macbeth does not believe the witches that he will become king, until the first part of the prophecy “All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, thane of Cawdor’’ (1.3.53). After that point he begins to think that if he had the title of King, the power that he and Lady Macbeth could have would be outstanding. He and his wife plot to kill King Duncan and make it look like the guards killed him. Macbeth goes from loyal soldier to thinking of killing the king.

1.     While working with Stephen, I learned that it can be difficult to work around our schedules, we have good ideas as a pair, and we can work efficiently and professionally. Stephen and I have two different schedules, so it was a little difficult to work around them; as he plays hockey and I am usually going between Richmond and Aldergrove a few times a week. As a pair Stephen and I wrote the script and came up with the idea to make our presentation out of Lego. When we worked it was efficient because of our schedules. We work hard and diligent, without goofing off or doing anything that was distracting or useless to our presentation.

2.     Overall I would say that I have learned that Shakespearian English is difficult and hard to understand. Stephen and I work well as a pair. I need to start working harder and putting more time into my studies. Shakespearian English is difficult because we don’t tend to use that English very much in today society. Stephen and I work well as a pair, because we are committed to complete our projects in a timely manner. I need to put more time into my studies because I am not happy with the way my grades are going, I know I can do better, so I will be striving towards greater success.

3.     I noticed that I need to work more on my studies. Not just in English, but in all my classes. With what I noticed, I will be ‘’stepping my game up’’ and trying harder to complete task on time to my full capacity, because I know that I can strive higher if I try.

4.     I am proud of that our project was not a last minute thing, like how most groups finish their projects the day before it’s due. Stephen and I worked hard on our project during the time we had. It’s not every day that you are able to work in a pair with someone that you don’t know that well and complete the task before it is actually due. It’s hard enough to find people that want the project done and completed a few days before it’s due.

5.     I would have to say that the pie would be divided about 65% - 35%. Stephen ending up with the higher percentage because, we used his house to do almost everything. We used Stephen’s cameras, Lego, and computer for editing. We used my house just to write the script. Stephen even took the time to call me late at night to tell me that we had to do more on our oral presentation for our project. Stephen taking the more difficult one, as I got the easier one, because I was not home to do it.

Lyrics about Identity

People Are Crazy

This old man and me, were at the bar and we
Were having us some beers and swappin' I dont cares
Talking politics, blonde and redhead chicks
Old dogs and new tricks, and habits we aint kicked

We talked about Gods grace, and all the hell we raised
Then I heard the ol' man say
God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy

He said I fought two wars, been married and divorced
What brings you to Ohio, he said damned if I know
We talked an hour or two, bout every girl we knew
What all we put them through, like two old boys will do

We pondered life and death, he lit a cigarette
Said these damn things will kill me yet
But God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy

Last call is two am, I said goodbye to him
I never talked to him again

Then one sunny day, I saw the old mans face
Front page obituary, he was a millionare
He left his fortune to, some guy he barely knew
His kids were mad as hell, but me, Im doing well
And I dropped by today, to just say thanks and pray
And I left a six-pack right there on his grave
And i said, God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy

God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy
God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy

This song shows Identity buy saying that people are crazy. People are crazy and will always be, theres nothing we can do to stop people from being crazy. Its just the way we are as human beings, we all have our crazy moments

A & P

How are people transformed through their relationships with others?

Sammy, in A & P is transformed throught the relationship with his employer, Lengel. Sammy views that the 3 girls that walk into the store with nothin on but a bathing suits if perfectly fine, but Lengel views it as a problem and does not want the girls to be in his store with only bathing suits. He would gladly have them in his store if they had shorts on over they're bathing suits. So when Lengel makes the girls leave the store, Sammy disaproves. Sammy walks up to Lengel and says "I quit". Sammy quits because he feels that Lengel had embarressed the girls, even though the girls didnt even notice him. Lengel had known Sammys' family for a long time, but Sammy did not care. He took off his apron, folded it up and placed it on the counter. Then walked out the door and looked for the girls, or as Sammy put it ''I look around for my girls'', but they were gone.

Brother Dear

What does it mean to be an insider or an outsider?

An insider is someone who fits in with his or hers surroundings/environment. An outsider is someone is does not fit in with his or hers surroundings/environment.
Greg is more or less an outsider to his family. Greg grew up in rural Alberta with his sister, mother, and father. He left them behind when he went to the University of Alberta (Edmonton). When he came back to visit his family, he had some new ideas. Greg wanted to quit university so that he could work and start making money right away instead of finishing his school work. But this was met with disregard by his father, who believes that Greg should finish/continue his studies so that he can have a well paying career, which inturn gives you a financial support to not have to worry about life so much. Gregs father had a well paying career, which he was not overly happy with. Thats why he believes that Greg should finish his studies.
This is how Greg feels that he is an outsider. Greg doesnt feel in place at home since his father is furious with him, because he does not want to finish his studies. From this dispute he feels unwelcome an heads towards the grey hound station. Gregs sister Sharlene followes his all the way to bus station, he doesnt really want her to walk with him, but he knows that shes not going to leave him. They talk about Gregs new girlfriend with Sharlene.
What proves that Gregs feels like an outsider is when Sharlene ask Greg if hes gonna stay.
"Well, you'll be back. Right?" "Right?"
"I dont suppose I'll stay away forever"
Sure he says that he doesn't suppose that he'll be gone forever, but he doesnt feel welcome to stay with his family for periods of time, espeacial with his father
